Information regarding road closures for this weekend
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Pavilion at Wolf Lake are proud to again host Leon’s Triathlon. On June 3rd and 4th we will welcome athletes from around the country who will participate in the “World’s Fastest Race.” We are especially honored to welcome all of the veterans and injured military who will participate.
In order to ensure the safety of all participants The Hammond Police Department in coordination with several other law enforcement agencies will close and secure several roads in the Robertsdale and North Hammond area.
Beginning at 7:30 am on Sunday, June 4th the following streets will close for the duration of the event.
Calumet Avenue from 115th Street south to the Toll Road on ramp
Sheffield Avenue from Wolf Lake Park south to Gostlin
129th Street from the toll road west to the east Lost Marsh Golf Course entrance. Golfers are asked to head west off Indianapolis Boulevard to access the course.
Calumet west to the Forsythe Park Entrance. Forsythe Park will remain closed for the duration of the event.
The trails along Wolf Lake will also be closed to the public during the event.
Residents are asked to park in their driveways or alleys before the closures take effect. Parking is also available in the Pulaski Park lot.
Spectators are welcome to spend the day at the event. Parking is available in the Clark High School Football Lot.
